Marcelo Wesseler is the Chief Executive Officer of SingPost Commerce (SP Commerce), a global omni-channel commerce enabler formed from three leaders in commerce solutions – Jagged Peak, TradeGlobal, and SingPost eCommerce – coming together.
A member of the Singapore Post Group, SP Commerce enables global brands to be successful online via an end-to-end eCommerce offering that includes a best-in-class technology platform combined with an extensive fulfilment and logistics network of 50 distribution centres globally. SP Commerce serves more than 1000 clients and runs sites like colehaan.com, adidas.com.my, uniqlo.com/th and calvinklein.com. The company is listed on the Singapore stock exchange [S08.SG
] with two main shareholders: SingTel and Alibaba Group.
Prior to joining Singapore Post, Mr Wesseler was Head of eCommerce at RS Components Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for growing the business to more than USD100m annually. During his eight year tenure at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, he was responsible for development of their US eCommerce site and global direct consumer sales. He also established an entirely new eCommerce organisation in Singapore and Shanghai. Mr Wesseler started his career as a senior eCommerce consultant at KPMG Consulting in Switzerland and, as an early eCommerce pioneer, founded three retail businesses and helped establish sonystyle.com, mini.com, bmw.com as well as one of Europe's first online shopping platforms, together with Deutsche Post in 1997.
He has an MA in business administration from Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, Germany, and has completed the executive education program at Stanford University.
