Clay Schouest has worked in the industry for over 18 years, with experience within local, global and regional roles. Having worked across a variety of sectors, Schouest has developed a passion for FMCG marketing, particularly brands in need of renovation.
He began his career in 1996 at McCann Erickson, working in the US and then Turkey. In 2006 he moved into a global role based in London, where he helped set up the Business Planning unit servicing Unilever. In 2010, Schouest joined the Aegis family, working initially in London as lead planner for multiple accounts before moving to Carat China in 2012 as Head of Strategy and Innovation. He then progressed into an APAC Regional Strategy Lead role in Singapore, before being promoted to Chief Strategy Officer for Carat APAC in early 2016.
A cultural specialist with MA in Social Anthropology, Schouest believes the future of our industry should be a 'back to the future' full-service agency model that combines media, creative and performance in a single collaborative cell. He believes the power of a great idea is still as relevant as ever, however the ability to design and amplify it has fundamentally changed.
