Bob Grove is chief client and operations officer at Edelman Asia Pacific.
Bob previously headed up North Asia for Edelman which saw them become market leaders in Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong with spectacular growth as well as establishing the company as one of the top integrated communications agencies in China. Prior to that he led Edelman’s Southeast Asia operations for eight years, where he leveraged cross-market capability and spearheaded the development of digital communications. Edelman Southeast Asia grew by ten times under his leadership. In his various leadership roles, Bob has provided communications counsel for clients on a wide variety of topics including corporate and brand social purpose, digital engagement, data analytics, issues management and change communications, as well as sports marketing, brand and go-to-market strategy. Having worked in both consultancy and in-house roles, Bob is a strong believer in execution being linked to achievable business results through a rigorous approach to strategic planning and creative that earns attention for both B2C and B2B clients. Bob is very active in causes that are dear to his heart: championing diversity and inclusiveness at Edelman as well as advocating that to other companies; and nurturing talent as the fulcrum for business success. He has spoken at numerous conferences across Asia Pacific on these topics as well as on how companies can elevate their businesses by building trust through social purpose. Prior to joining Edelman, Bob worked for a global business-to-business technology provider as the director of marketing in Asia Pacific. He was appointed managing director of its North Asia operations after just a year and despite the bursting of the tech-bubble at the time, he grew the North Asia business by 70 percent. Bob has over 25 years of experience in marketing and communications and has lived in Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan, in addition to the UK. He started his career working at IBM for 8 years.
